The process is as follows : -

Your appointed solicitor will then analyse your claim and decide the best way forward to maximise your claim and win compensation for you. The appointed solicitor will then decide to do one of the following
1. Appoint a representative to visit you at home to go through the documents and gain consent from you or
2. Send paperwork through the post for you to check, sign and return.
The appointed solicitor will then send a letter of claim to your opponent (3rdParty) which is usually an insurance company acting on behalf of the person responsible for your accident. Your solicitor will also gather all necessary evidence relevant to your case with the sole purpose in obtaining acceptance of liability from your opponent. This process can take between 3-6 months in general.
Our solicitors will also arrange an appointment to see an independent medical expert during the claims process which will be at a time and place convenient for you.
The medical report from the medical expert will form the basis of the level of compensation for your case to be offered by the 3rd party insurance company. At this point we will ask you for a list of everything you wish to be compensated for so that we can obtain all your lossess in full from the 3rdparty. These can include the following –
- Pain and suffering due to the injury
- Loss of Earnings
- Medical costs
- Car hire charges
- Taxi fares
- Phone Bills
- Clothing/Personal items damaged during the accident
This list is not exhaustive but does provide a rough guide of what you can claim back.
At this point there will be negotiations between your solicitor and the 3rdparty insurance. We will always work to negotiate the highest possible compensation level in your favour. Once agreement is reached and you are happy with what is offered then your compensation cheque should be with you within 4-8 weeks.
